The Reason for the Season’s Trees

So what’s with this Christian tree worship? It isn’t enough to plant the birth of your god on the birthday of gods who already celebrated December 25 as their birthdays; you have to worship their trees now too? Does adding Pagan ritual to Pagan ritual make for better Christianity? It would seem so when you consider such things as Yule-logs, Yule-singing, holly, mistletoe, wassailing (the ancient drink-sacrifice), etc.
